Shay and Spencer's Spring Celebration
Last April I photographed the wedding of Shay and Spencer's friends, Kaela and Kyle. When Shay and Spencer called me and said they got my number from Kaela I was so honored. I love to getting calls from couples who are referred to me. We braved the August heat to do a gorgeous engagement session down by the Salt River, which you can check out here. Getting the chance to shoot an engagement session with couples gets me extra hyped to shoot their wedding, and I knew from the get go that this would be a fun wedding.
The weather cooperated perfectly with the ideal spring tempratures and cool breeze. These two had so many great personal touches throughout the entire wedding and ceremony. From special song choices down to the personalized sunglasses for the bridal party, everything detail was cared for. They even made sure to have a birthday cake(from the delicious Nothing Bundt Cakes) and group Happy Birthday singing for Shay's grandma and Chilean sister. Instead of the traditional garter toss, a family member/professional auctioneer entertained the guest with an actual auctioning of the garter. That was a first for me and such a cool idea! One of my final favorite touches was the karaoke version (thanks to DJ Tony) of Margaritaville that Shay's dad sang for everyone (it was fantastic by the way!)
